Milton “Lil Rel” Howery was born in Chicago, Illinois, is a celebrated comedian, actor, and writer. Raised on Chicago’s West Side, Howery discovered his comedic talent early, performing at local clubs after graduating from Crane High School.
Howery’s career began to rise in 2007 with his appearance on “Last Comic Standing,” leading to further opportunities in the comedy world. In 2012, he joined the cast of the “In Living Color” reboot, gaining valuable experience and exposure despite the show’s short run.
His major breakthrough came in 2015 with “The Carmichael Show,” where he portrayed Bobby Carmichael, earning acclaim for his humor and depth. This role set the stage for his standout performance in Jordan Peele’s 2017 horror-comedy film “Get Out,” as TSA agent Rod Williams. His comedic timing and memorable lines, like “Consider this situation handled,” garnered him widespread recognition and the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Comedic Performance.
Following “Get Out,” Howery continued to excel in both television and film. He starred in his own sitcom, “Rel,” on Fox from 2018 to 2019, and appeared in notable films such as “Bird Box” (2018), “Brittany Runs a Marathon” (2019), “Bad Trip” (2021), and “Free Guy” (2021). His versatility and unique comedic voice have made him a sought-after talent in Hollywood.
